Trip Wire: “A hidden trigger which sets off a string of events that are explosive .” My Man Is Pulling Away
Deep within the heart of every guy is an extreme longing to be somebody’s hero.
This longing has ancient roots.
You see, the origin of the longing is written to the fabric of his DNA. And there it is located, dormant… till one day, the right trigger unleashes its power.
I’d like to show you just how you can become that trigger, and also how to awaken the force your guy’s bonding instinct.
But first, a story. It is the narrative of human connection. My Man Is Pulling Away
Before we could care deeply about somebody, we have to understand something about their own life story. Because stories evoke empathy. Stories allow us to picture ourselves in somebody else’s shoes. My Man Is Pulling Away
Stories form the foundation of all human connection. They construct the feeling of a shared lifestyle experience.
It’s odd, but true, that we could also find ourselves rooting for both thieves and criminals so long as we watch that their story unfold. Films like Ocean’s Eleven along with The Italian Job exemplify that well.
In the film, Ocean’s Eleven, actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon produce for a cast of likable burglars. But beyond their good looks, we get dragged into the story. We find what is driving Danny Ocean’s motivation to rob a casino. A casino which just happens to be owned by his ex-wife’s new lover.
We could empathize with the pain of Danny Ocean. And by the movie’s end, we’re really rooting for him to get away with it. To steal the cash and disappear into the sunset with his ex-wife, Tess, by his side.
Perhaps stranger is the way we react to fiction in the first place. A skilled novelist could get me on the edge of my chair, rooting for a person who doesn’t even exist in real life.
Literary critics may scoff, but I liked the twilight show by Stephanie Meyer. I think my hand was actually trembling from adrenaline as the Volturi began to march upon the area, intent on destroying Isabella’s daughter.
But wait, that’s all make-believe. So how could it lead to a physical response in my own body?
The answer, obviously, is the power of story. My Man Is Pulling Away
Since ancient times, stories have been the primary means by which humans communicated important information. Because of that, our minds are literally wired for story.
Stories influence our emotions. They are at the heart of communication. Letting us to truly feel connected to one another.
